Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, following his emergence as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of the 2027 Lagos State governorship election.
Sanwo-Olu conveyed his congratulatory message in a statement released on Friday morning shortly after Hamzat was declared winner of the APC direct primary election conducted across the state on Thursday.
The governor described Hamzat as a dependable partner who has demonstrated commitment, competence and dedication in the service of Lagos State over the years.
He expressed confidence in Hamzat’s ability to sustain and advance the developmental strides recorded in the state, while urging party members and residents to remain united ahead of the next phase of political activities.
According to Sanwo-Olu, his deputy possesses the experience, intelligence and passion required to continue driving progress and delivering good governance to Lagosians.
“Congratulations to my brother and Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat on emerging as the APC Lagos Governorship candidate for the 2027 elections,” the governor stated.
