Nigerian music star Peter Okoye is still venting over his soured relationship with his twin brother, Paul Okoye.
In a series of tweets, he pointed out the irony of how no one mentioned that they were blood when his brothers were stealing from him and creating a false narrative about him. Now that he has uncovered the betrayal, suddenly people remember they’re blood.
Peter made it clear that it doesn’t work like that, and he is still in court. According to him, forgiveness doesn’t mean accessibility.
“We were not ‘blood’ when they were stealing from me.
We were not “blood” when they were creating false narratives about me.
Now that I’ve uncovered the betrayal that’s been going on for over 20 years, suddenly we’re blood?
No… it doesn’t work like that. We are still in court! Forgiveness doesn’t mean Accessibility. Again! Una go dey alright”.
Peter warned against dragging women into their beef, noting that the women were in their lives 20 years ago. He admonished critics to stop pushing a narrative that suits their agenda.
“Before you drag any woman” into this!
No woman directed or advised anyone to steal from what I worked for over the years.
Stop pushing that narrative to suit your agenda.
None of us was even married 20-something years ago when this whole betrayal and stealing started!
I said what I said”.
Mr P, as he is now known, said even if his parents were alive, he would still step back from his siblings. According to him, boundaries are necessary, and blood isn’t thicker than peace of mind.
“Even if my parents were alive and supported this kind of betrayal, I’d still choose to step back, cut them off and protect my peace. Boundaries are necessary! blood isn’t thicker than my peace of mind”.

“They’re only emotional because the group is no more. Yes, I’m 40+, and I’ve earned the right to protect my peace over toxic family members who betrayed and disrespected me. Now I’m glad that I’ve set boundaries for my sanity! No apologies. Love me or hate me! I do not give a F$ck.
One of the biggest lies ever told is that blood makes you family. Blood
makes you related. Loyalty, love, and trust make you family. @DONflexx is true family. Take it to the bank.
Yes, it’s painful. And yes, it’s my loss. But no one should keep reminding me that I was betrayed and used by my own blood for over 20 years +. They can laugh at me now! but I’ll come out stronger”.
Kemi Filani reported a day back that Peter announced on Twitter that he was officially changing his birthday to separate himself from his twin.
In another tweet, Peter announced that November 30th is his new birthday, not November 18th. The singer said it is a personal decision and he appreciates the public for understanding.
His tweet didn’t sit well with netizens, who dragged him.
Responding to critics on Twitter, he questioned why they were so pained and outraged that he cancelled Christmas. Peter further questioned why people were crying more than the bereaved and noted how it is causing more pain to many than Nigeria’s real problems. He made it known that their insults don’t move him.
