Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has spoken on the challenges of filmmaking.
While writing a heartfelt note to her supporters, she appreciated them for standing by her.
Expressing gratitude, Toriola noted that filmmakers make movies in an economy that constantly tests their limits, and budgets try to silence their vision. Resources are never enough, yet they refuse to allow it to define their story.
Toriola said she doesn’t have it easy, but she still makes it count.

A day back, she lashed out at upcoming actors charging exorbitant prices. She lamented over how half-baked actors with no intention of growing and working on their craft are now rampant in Nollywood.
In a shading Instagram post, Toriola threw shots at an unidentified person, questioning whether the person’s movie is among the top 5, as she stated that her goal isn’t to compete but to remain the best.
Toriola had bragged about her impact following her return to Nigeria. Sharing photos of herself on the plane, she stated that despite being away for three months, the echo of her name stayed loud. She expressed belief that even her algorithm missed her.
Some months back, Wumi revealed an unknown fact about herself, stating that she walks her own path unapologetically and with unwavering focus. The mother of one made it known that she doesn’t allow the noise, hype and opinions to move her.
Last year, a fan of the actress had reprimanded her for throwing shots at some of her colleagues, advising her to leave others and stop creating enemies for herself and Wumi replied, telling him to shut up.
The talented scrip interpreter, in another post, threw shade at some of her colleagues for rubbishing her efforts. She revealed that someone called her a YouTube star, and her stubbornness made her take it with so much pride. Wumi noted how some of her colleagues are yet to conquer YouTube and are still floating in the box office world.
