Security agencies in Osun were deployed on Thursday to man Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across the state

nts of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) who monitored the exercise in Osogbo and Ile-Ife report that security operatives were stationed at the entrances and within the premises of the centres.
Personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Department of State Services (DSS) were positioned at strategic points in centres visited.
At the JAMB test centre in Alekuwodo area, security personnel were visible at the entrance and within the premises while candidates sat for their examinations.
Similarly, at the Professional Test Centre along Ilobu Road, security operatives maintained presence as the examination progressed.
At the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Centre for Information and Communication Technology (ICT), where the UTME was conducted, NSCDC and university security personnel were stationed around the facility.
The Administrative Officer of the centre, Yinusa Adejumo, said the examination proceeded without incident.
“We are fine. There is no security issue; movement in and out of the centre has been orderly and without violence.
* The students are also complying with JAMB guidelines,” he said.
Some candidates who spoke with NAN expressed satisfaction with the security arrangements.
One of the candidates, Gboyega Abiona, said the presence of security agencies gave him confidence.
“I am glad about the strong security presence. It allows me to write my examination without fear of any breach,” he said.
NAN reports that the atmosphere across all the CBT centres visited was peaceful.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Osun, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, had earlier told NAN that the command deployed officers across CBT centres in the state to ensure the safety of candidates.
The 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), organised by JAMB, is scheduled to hold from April 16 to April 25.
The board also stated that about 2.2 million candidates are expected to sit for the examination in 966 CBT centres nationwide.(NAN) www.nannews.ng
