Akure, May 16,2026 (NAN) Mr Femi Fadairo, an aspirant for the Akure South/Akure North Federal Constituency seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC), on Saturday praised the peaceful conduct of the party primary.
Fadairo stated this while speaking with journalists after participating in the election at Iloro Primary School, Oke Aro, Ward 8 in Akure.
The aspirant, who dismissed report that he had withdrawn from the race, thanked party members in Ward 8, Okiara, for their support and turnout.
“I want to thank God Almighty for witnessing this peaceful exercise today and also thank the good people of Ward 8 for coming out en masse to vote,” he said.
Fadairo said the absence of tension and violence during the exercise showed that the process was transparent and orderly.
He also appreciated Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa for giving him the opportunity to serve and empower his people.
Fadairo, while speaking on rumours that he had withdrawn from the contest, Fadairo described the claim as false.
“If you step down, you write a letter indicating your withdrawal for another person, but that is not the case here,” he stated.
The aspirant expressed confidence of emerging victorious at the end of the primary election.
“I am very optimistic that I will win this election. If other wards conduct their exercise in a free and fair manner like this, I will definitely win,” he said.
Also Speaking with newsmen at Ebenezer A/C primary School, Amudipe, Ward 5, a former Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the governor, Mr Tayo Oluyi, commended the process and appreciated party members for large turnout.
“It was peaceful and seamless, and everything was done according to the rules of our party and it went well,” he said.
Also, an aspirant into the Ondo State House of Assembly for Akure Constituency 1, Mrs Adeola Fynch, also described the process as seamless.
Fynch told newsmen that the election was conducted peacefully and according to the rules of the party.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that at Ebenezer A/C primary School, Amudipe, ward 5, and St Stephen Primary School, Oke Ijebu Ward 4,party members were seen organising themselves in orderly manner.
NAN also reports that there were security presence at all the venues visited. (NAN)
