Politician Mahmud Sadis Buba, popularly known as Al-ajabin Zazzau, has withdrawn from the race to represent the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Buba’s age has recently been a subject of controversy. While he maintains that he is 30 years old, critics have disputed this, claiming he is 15 based on an alleged data page from his international passport and National Identification Number (NIN).
In a letter addressed to the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, which was published on his verified Facebook page on Saturday, Buba admitted the withdrawal was not an easy decision to make.
The letter read in part: “Please accept this letter as formal notification that I am withdrawing from the race for Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, House of Representatives, effective immediately.
“This was not an easy decision, but it was hastened by the reconciliation efforts initiated by stakeholders and leaders of our party. Consequently, after extensive consultations with my family, political associates, and stakeholders within our great party, I have decided that this step is in the best interest of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“I believe that uniting behind a single candidate is paramount to our victory in the general election and for the continued progress of our constituency and state.”
Buba expressed his appreciation to Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani and the party’s leadership for the opportunity to participate in the nomination process.
He noted that the experience has enriched him and that he remains grateful for the support of his constituents and party members throughout the process.
Reaffirming his loyalty and dedication to the APC, Buba stressed that his withdrawal was not a sign of weakness, but rather a sacrifice for the greater good of the party.
He pledged to remain faithful to the APC and committed to working tirelessly for the victory of both the consensus candidate and the party at large during the polls.
Finally, Buba urged his supporters to remain calm, stay united, and throw their full weight behind the party’s decision, advising them to give their maximum support to whoever ultimately emerges as the candidate.
