A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Aisha Yesufu, has said the growing alliance among opposition leaders is causing concern for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.
Yesufu made the remark in a post on her official 𝕏 handle on Tuesday.
The activist claimed that the ruling party is uneasy about the emerging political alignment.
She wrote, “Mr Tinubu and his people are very scared! More scared than they were in 2022.”
According to her, the scale of collaboration among opposition figures was not anticipated by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
She said, “The alignment that has happened and is still happening is one that they never envisioned happening!”
Yesufu urged supporters of the opposition not to be discouraged by possible pushback from the ruling party.
She added, “So, they will do everything they can to discourage you! Ignore them and do your thing.”
Meanwhile, Renowned economist and banker, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, has declared his intention to contest for the presidential ticket of ADC
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that Hayatu-Deen, ahead of the 2027 general election, is promising to tackle economic hardship, insecurity, and governance challenges.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television, Hayatu-Deen said Nigerians are grappling with rising living costs and worsening insecurity, stressing that the country needs urgent leadership intervention.
He said, “Food prices keep going up, petrol prices keep rising, and for many Nigerians, just getting through the day has become a struggle.”
According to him, insecurity has also worsened, with resources being misdirected while citizens remain vulnerable.
“This is not the Nigeria we deserve. It is time to change course, and that is why I am stepping forward,” he added.
