Cardi B is pressing pause on her romance with Stefon Diggs as she shifts her focus back to family and work.
A source told PEOPLE that the Grammy winner, 33, has decided to take a step back from her relationship with the New England Patriots wide receiver amid rising tension.
“Things were getting too heated and complicated,” the insider says. “Cardi is very no nonsense. The second she felt that she couldn’t trust him, she pulled back to focus on her kids, her music and tour.”
The pair, who share a son born in November 2025, sparked breakup speculation after the 2026 Super Bowl when they unfollowed each other on social media. Cardi, whose real name is Belcalis Almánzar, also fueled chatter when she told fans during a tour stop in Los Angeles that she was not “f—ing” with Diggs.
Despite the distance, the source says the connection is not entirely over. “They co-parent and the door is not completely closed,” the insider adds. “They might reconnect in the future.”
Cardi B is also a mom to three children from her previous marriage to Offset and is prioritizing stability at home. Diggs, 32, previously hinted that an engagement was on his mind, but for now, Cardi is choosing herself.
