Famous Abuja- based activist and lawyer, Abdul Mahmud, has withdrawn his petitions against DCP Amabua Muhammed.
The activist made this known in a press statement titled: “WITHDRAWAL OF PETITIONS AGAINST DCP AMABUA MUHAMMED”.
Mahmud said, “In light of the ongoing efforts by all parties to resolve the issues arising in Commissioner of Police v. Abdul Mahmud and Emmanuel Ejeh in a peaceful and amicable manner, it has become necessary to foster an atmosphere that encourages dialogue, mutual understanding, and reconciliation.
“To this end, I have formally withdrawn my petitions against DCP Amabua Muhammed and have requested that they be treated as abandoned by the Police Service Commission, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, and the Code of Conduct Bureau.
“I respectfully urge that any further publication or dissemination of related material in your medium be discontinued in the interest of peace and constructive engagement.
On April 13, 2026, Mahmud had equally notified the Chairman, Police Service Commission (PSC) of his resolve to withdraw his peition
In the letter to the PSC Chairman, titled: “Re: Withdrawal of Petition on Corrupt Practice Written Against ACP Amabua Muhammed”, Mahmud said, “I write further to my petition dated 1 August, 2023, addressed to your office concerning the above subject-matter, and attached herein.
“Upon reflection, the petition, which was based on information available to me at the time, is hereby withdrawn. Further, I humbly request that it be treated as discontinued.
“This withdrawal is made in the interest of fairness and peace.
“I regret any inconvenience or unintended embarrassment that the petition may have occasioned.
“Please accept the assurances of my warm regards.”
