Nigerian Afrobeats star, Ibrahim Balogun widely known as Wizkid has set a new record as the first African artiste to surpass 11 billion streams on Spotify.
The achievement was announced on Tuesday by music data platform ChaftsAfrica through its official X account.
According to the post, Wizkid remains the first African artiste to achieve every major Spotify streaming milestone from one billion to 11 billion streams.

The latest milestone comes days after the release of State of Mind, Wizkid’s collaboration with DJ Tunez, which was released on May 15.
The song recorded more than 685,000 Spotify streams globally within its first day of release, reflecting the singer’s strong international audience and streaming power.
Earlier in January, the singer, popularly known as “Big Wiz” by fans and industry colleagues, became the first African artiste to reach 10 billion Spotify streams.
