A group of All Progressives Congress (APC) members have destroyed the campaign billboards of the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, as they accused the leadership of the party of betrayal.
The aggrieved members alleged to be supporters of Osun APC Chieftain, Abdulkabiru Ajisope, stormed the campaign office of the APC leader on Tuesday in protest over the party’s House of Representatives primary election.
As captured in a video shared on X, the protesting party members expressed their displeasure over the defeat of their preferred candidate for Osogbo Federal Constituency seat, Durojaye Afees who lost the ticket to Ibrahim Kayode.
They accused the APC leadership of betrayal as some of the protesters pulled down the campaign billboard of the Oyebamiji erected outside the office.
The party members affirmed their preference of Durojaye over any candidate with some heard renouncing their membership with the party.
“A party of betrayers and merciless people. Despite all our struggles.
“We are no longer APC members. Without Durojaye, there is no APC.
“No Durojaye no vote. APC is dead. We must not hear broom from your mouth again.” Some of the protesters said in the clip amid the demonstration.
