Celebrity businessman and socialite Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu, better known as Cubana Chief Priest, has justified his decision not to back 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi again, saying he does not want to suffer defeat a second time.
He made this known during a recent chat with popular Nigerian streamer Peller.
Cubana and a few other Nigerian celebrities were among the strongest supporters of Obi during the 2023 presidential race.
In the build-up to the 2027 elections, however, the nightlife promoter dumped Obi and switched allegiance to the incumbent President, Bola Tinubu.

He later became the coordinator of the City Boys Movement, an organisation launched by the President’s son, Seyi Tinubu, for grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 polls.
Speaking on why he chose to back the incumbent president, Cubana noted that he didn’t want to taste defeat again.
He went on to say Obi will still lose the upcoming election, adding that the former Anambra State Governor is not ready.
He said, “I left Obi because I don’t want to lose again. Peter will still not win because he is not ready.”
