The Wike-backed faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State has officially released the names of its candidates for the House of Representatives, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen by the party’s state Organising Secretary, Mr Stephen Olaniyi, in Ibadan on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the candidates emerged through primaries held across the state on Sunday.
The statement noted that the 14 candidates would be representing the party in their respective federal constituencies during the forthcoming elections.
The list includes Mr Samson Fatola, Ibadan South-West/North-West; Mr Idris Olanrewaju, Oyo East/Oyo West/Atiba/Afijio, and Olusegun Akinloye, Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere.
Others are Mrs Elizabeth Alao, Ido/Ibarapa East; Mr Rasaki Haruna, Ibarapa Central/North, and Mr Rotimi Ajumobi, Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola.
In addition, we have Mr Adedotun Adebayo for Oluyole; Mr Olusoji Olusegun for Ibadan North, and Mr Solomon Odeyemi for Egbeda/Ona-Ara.
Also on the list are Mrs Victoria Akinyemi, Akinyele/Lagelu; Mr Abdul-Lateef Adeniran, Irepo/Olorunsogo/Orelope, and Mrs Ramota Azeez, Atisbo/Saki East/Saki West.
Other candidates include Mr Olayemi Akinyemi, Ibadan South-East/North-East, and Mrs Ajoke Okanlawon for Ogbomoso North/South/Oriire.
The party, expressing confidence in the candidates’ capacity to secure victory at the elections, urged members to unite and support their preparations. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
