A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and governorship aspirant in Niger State, Dr Mohammed Kpautagi, has officially obtained his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms ahead of the forthcoming governorship election, pledging to address insecurity and hardship in the state.
Kpautagi picked the forms at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday amid a large gathering of supporters, party members, women groups, youths, and political associates who turned out in solidarity with him.
Speaking shortly after the exercise, the governorship hopeful thanked his supporters for their confidence in his leadership ambition, assuring them that his administration would prioritise policies aimed at improving the welfare of ordinary residents across the state.
Kpautagi identified insecurity and water scarcity as some of the major challenges confronting the people of Niger State, promising to introduce practical and immediate measures to tackle the problems if elected.

According to him, the worsening security situation and lack of access to clean water had continued to inflict hardship on many communities.
“It is painful seeing our people being kidnapped and killed while women and children wake up daily in search of water. These are challenges that require decisive leadership and immediate action,” he stated.
The ADC chieftain added that his administration would focus on people-oriented governance and prudent management of resources to restore what he described as the lost glory of the state.
The event attracted several party stalwarts and political figures, including former lawmakers, ex-deputy speakers, party chairmen, and aspirants seeking various elective positions under the ADC platform.
Kpautagi, who arrived at the venue alongside his wives and close political associates, was received by cheering supporters who described his ambition as a fresh opportunity for the state.
