A media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Paul Ibeh, has said that his principal is already engaging leaders, stakeholders and members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) over his 2027 ambition.
He stated this on 𝕏 on Tuesday while responding to a question raised by human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong on whether Atiku was genuinely preparing for another presidential bid.
Effiong had asked on 𝕏: “Is @atiku really serious about contesting for the presidency in 2027?”
Ibeh replied in the affirmative, stating that if Atiku eventually emerges as the party’s presidential candidate, he would require the support of Nigerians to defeat President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress administration.
Ibeh wrote: “Yes, @atiku is really serious about contesting for the presidency in 2027, @InibeheEffiong. He is currently engaging the leaders, stakeholders and members of the @ADCNig on the viability of his candidacy.
“When he eventually emerges as the presidential candidate of the ADC, he will need everyone, including you to oust the Tinubu-led APC administration and pave the way for the rebuilding of Nigeria made desolate by Tinubu’s urban bandits.
“No matter how big an iroko tree, it can never be a forest. It will need other trees, big and small, and even shrubs to be a forest. The question is, are Nigerians prepared to leave the Biblical Egypt of slavery and suffering that Tinubu has turned our country into?”
