Barakat Bakare, the Lagos All Progressive Congress (APC) House of Assembly aspirant has defeated Desmond Elliot, at the ward of the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.
Though the results are yet to be officially confirmed, Barakat reportedly polled 1,986 votes as against the incumbent Lawmaker representing Surulere Constituency one, Desmond Elliot who secured only 10 votes.
This had widely been perceived a significant blow to Elliot’s third term ambition, considering Gbajabiamila’s status as his political leader.
