The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kosofe chapter, has intensified support for Sen. Mukhail Abiru’s re-election campaign in Lagos East.

The endorsement came after meetings involving youth leaders, student representatives, artisans and grassroots stakeholders across communities in Kosofe.

Council officials said the decision reflected growing confidence in the senator’s leadership, accessibility and record of constituency development.

Mr Lanre Aborisade, council spokesman, confirmed the endorsement while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday.

He said Senator Abiru remained the preferred candidate ahead of the forthcoming senatorial contest.

NAN also reports that the senator is seeking another term without opposition within his political fold.

“Senator Abiru has built trust with the people through practical projects and responsive leadership,” Aborisade said.

He noted that many youths viewed the senator as a strong advocate for education, technology and economic empowerment.

Aborisade said one of the senator’s notable achievements was the establishment of the SAIL Innovation Lab.

He explained that the centre had opened fresh opportunities for young people interested in digital careers.

“The SAIL centre has exposed many youths to technology, innovation and global opportunities,” he said.

He added that beneficiaries had received training in software development, digital marketing and entrepreneurial skills.

According to him, several participants now operate businesses or work in technology-related sectors.

Aborisade also praised the senator’s interventions in education and social welfare.

He said classroom projects, learning materials and scholarship support had benefited many communities.

“Schools, families and community groups have all benefited from his interventions,” he stated.

He also highlighted empowerment programmes for women, artisans and small-scale business owners.

According to him, these initiatives strengthened livelihoods and encouraged economic participation.

Aborisade said the senator’s constituency engagements had created closer connections with residents.

“He listens, responds and follows through on promises made to the people,” he said.

He stressed that youths were prepared to mobilise support across polling units, adding that volunteers had already begun awareness campaigns in several neighbourhoods.

“As youth advocates, we are committed to ensuring his victory,” Aborisade said, urging residents to support continuity and protect development gains already recorded.

“The grassroots must stand with proven leadership and sustained progress,” he added.

Aborisade expressed confidence that another term would deliver broader opportunities for constituents.

He said the senator still had more programmes planned for youth advancement. “We believe his next term will produce even greater results,” he said. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
