The African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential aspirant, Mohammed Hayatudeen, has disclosed plan to boycott the announcement of the party’s presidential primary election over alleged vote rigging.
Hayatudeen who is contesting with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, for the ADC presidential ticket, faulted the conduct of the election.
He made this known in a statement issued on his official X handle on Tuesday.
The presidential aspirant who expressed concern over the conduct of the primaries claimed to have personally witnessed vote rigging during the election.
“I will not be attending the announcement of the ADC Presidential Election Results today.
“I am concerned by reports from across the country of widespread vote rigging, some of which I myself observed, and will therefore be taking advice on my next steps.” He wrote.
Meanwhile, preparation is currently under way at the venue of the results announcement in Abuja.
With over 10 states already concluding the collation of the results, Atiku have strongly been tipped to emerge as the party’s flagbearer as he leads the poll.
