The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has inaugurated over 800 members into its campaign council ahead of the 2026 governorship election, signalling an early start to its political mobilisation.

At the inauguration ceremony held in Osogbo on Wednesday, the campaign Director General, Oluwole Oke, expressed strong confidence in the party’s chances, declaring that its candidate, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, would defeat the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, before 10:00 p.m. on election day.
Oke described the council as committed to unseating the current administration, insisting that “removing Adeleke is non-negotiable”.
He further stated that the APC had already commenced extensive grassroots mobilisation and engagement across the state.
The party recently announced the structure of its campaign council, with Oke serving as Director General, alongside other zonal coordinators and committee heads covering key areas such as mobilisation, media, legal affairs, youth engagement, and strategy.
In his address, Oke criticised the Adeleke-led government, alleging mismanagement of state resources and underperformance in critical sectors including education, healthcare, agriculture and infrastructure.
He argued that public schools had deteriorated and claimed that basic services were no longer functioning effectively.

He also dismissed the administration’s emphasis on salary payments, stating that paying workers is a fundamental obligation rather than an achievement.
According to him, the APC’s campaign would focus on issue-based engagement, promising programmes aimed at reducing poverty, creating employment, and restoring what he described as good governance in the state.
The inauguration marks a significant step in the build-up to the 2026 governorship contest, as political activities begin to intensify across Osun State.
