The Nigerian Bar Association, Nyanya-Karu is set for a week-long programme being itd Annual Law Week beginning from the 17th to the 25th April, 2026.
According to a statement made available to Newsdiaryonline, the event which is the Annual Law Week of the branch will begin with Jummat Prayer on Friday 17th April, 2016 at the Central Mosque KaruIt will be followed by a football competition the next day 17th April, 2026 and a Thanksgiving Service at the Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries, Jikoyi, Abuja.
The high point of the event will be the opening ceremony and Plenary sessions on Monday the 20th April, 2026, with his Lordship, Hon. Justice Walter Samuel Onnoghen CJN (rtd) as the Keynote Speaker.
Even more, the theme of the Law week is: “The Democratic Equation” where his Lordship will duel particularly on the topic “The Judicial arm of government as the tool for strengthening Democracy in Nigeria”.
The event will future prominent personalities like the Mazi Afam Osigwe, National President of the Nigerian Bar Association. The branch also expects Mrs Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya (SAN) Aare Olumuyiwa Akinnoro (SAN) 1st Vice President of the Nigeria Bar Association, Sabastine Anyia Anyia Esq and a whole lot of other dignitaries.
FCT Minister, Nyesom E. Wike (Life Bencher) has been earmarked among other dignitaries for award of excellence. The branch says it is exceedingly grateful for the dualization of key road within Karu giving the place a face-lift which will free the perennial traffic that has bedevilled the area. “For this, Nigerian Bar Association Nyanya-Karu say, a “big thank you’ to the Honorable Minister, Federal Capital Territory,” the statement said.
The last day of the event will be the 25th of April, 2026 which be Awards Night and Dinner.
The Chairman of the Law Week Henry Ebu Tawo says he is optimistic the acceptance of his Lordship Hon. Justice Walter Samuel Onnoghen to grace the occasion as Keynote Speaker exemplifies how the Bar and the Bench in Nigeria is optimistic that there is hope that the country though seems to to be moving with a snail speed; emphasising that it is not how but how.

The organisers of the event will not be unmindful of the need for security as arrangements will be made with the Nigeria Police to ensure adequate security in the area.
