Manchester City have edged past Chelsea with a narrow 1-0 win to secure the Emirates FA Cup final.

The Cityzens took on the Blues at the Wembley stadium on Saturday as they eyed their 8th FA Cup title.

They however met quite stronger Chelsea side with Antoine Semenyo’s 72nd minute goal emerging as the decider of the contest.

Coming off a 1-1 draw against Liverpool to end their historical six consecutive defeats in the English Premier League, Chelsea put on an impressive defensive display against Manchester City as they held the Pep Guardiola-led side to a goalless draw in the first half.

However, the decision of interim coach, Calum MacFarlane, to opt for a 3-4-2-1 formation blunted the attacking threat of the Blues.

The second half appeared promising for the World Champions as they contained Manchester City’s offensives.

However, Ryan Cherki’s introduction by Guardiola saw Manchester City opening up Chelsea’s watertight defence.

Manchester City’s offensive display eventually paid off with Semenyo’s cheeky goal.

Erling Haaland’s through pass was tipped home by the Ivorian to give Manchester City the lead.

Chelsea came close to getting back into the game barely five after but Enzo Fernandez latch at the ball went over the roof of the goal mouth.

The introduction of Portugese winger, Pedro Neto, and Argentine forward, Alejandro Garnacho, failed to make any impact in Chelsea’s search for an equaliser as the game ended in 1-0 in favour of Manchester City.
