David Schwimmer is criticizing Wireless Festival after organizers booked Kanye West, who now goes by Ye, before the event was ultimately canceled.

The actor shared a statement on Instagram after sponsors pulled out and the U.K. government barred Ye from entering the country ahead of the July festival.

“It’s great to see companies with moral clarity,” Schwimmer wrote. “Unlike Wireless… they decided not to platform an artist who became one of the most recognizable hate-mongering bigots in the world.”

Schwimmer, who is Jewish, said the festival should have known better than to give Ye a major stage after years of antisemitic remarks and public controversies.

“Wireless disgraced itself,” he wrote.

The Friends star also dismissed the rapper’s recent attempt to apologize and seek reconciliation.

“An apology letter is just that, words on paper,” Schwimmer said. “It does not erase years of abuse.”

Ye recently said he hoped to come to London to present “a show of change” and bring “unity, peace, and love through my music.” But Schwimmer said real accountability requires more than public statements.

“I believe in forgiveness, but it takes much more than this,” he wrote.

The actor also criticized artists and brands that continue to work with Ye despite his past comments.

Schwimmer became a household name for playing Ross Geller on Friends and has since appeared in series such as American Crime Story and Intelligence.
