THE Committee constituted to investigate excesses of Vehicle Inspection Officers VIOs in Plateau, has submitted its reports to the State Government
Mr Istifanus Dimang, Chairman of the committee submitted the reports to Mr Davou Jatau, the Commissioner for Transport in the state, on Monday in Jos.
The News Agency of Nigeria NAN recalls that on Feb. 20, Plateau government constituted the committee to investigate alleged excesses by VIO officials in the state.
Receiving the reports, Jatau thanked members of the committee for accepting to serve the state, adding that the committee was constituted due to public outcry.
He said that government would carefully study and implement the recommendations in the report.
The commissioner insisted that the current administration in the state has zero tolerance for corruption, indiscipline and exploitation by public servants.
“This administration is guided by the principle of accountability, transparency and respect for the rule of law.
“We are going to unravel the truth and address any wrong doing in the system” he said.
Jatau, who promised to ensure that every agency under his ministry operate within its mandate, insisted that such move would curb abuse of office.
He, however, said that the state government would support its workforce towards optimal performance and quality service delivery at all times. NAN
