BENUE State House of Assembly member Mr Simon Gabo (APC/Mata) says he sponsored two bills, moved several motions and made many other legislative contributions in the assembly.

Gabo, who made the disclosure in an interview with newsmen on Monday in Makurdi, said that he sponsored the Signage and Advertisement bill and the Drugs Regulation and Management Agency bill.

The lawmaker explained that the drugs bill was designed to make medicines more affordable, particularly for rural dwellers.

According to him, the absence of such a framework previously allowed unregulated drug vendors to dominate supply.

He added that with the bill now in place, drugs were sourced through state-approved agencies, ensuring better quality and accessibility.

He further noted that the legislation had attracted support from international donors, who had supplied drugs to the state worth billions of naira.

Gabo maintained that both bills were deliberately crafted to add value to governance while also generating revenue for the state. (NAN)
