THE University of Abuja has entered into a strategic partnership with Edutech Global aimed at expanding access to quality higher education through technology-driven learning, with a focus on serving working professionals and lifelong learners across Nigeria.
The partnership, facilitated through the University’s Centre for Distance Learning and Continuing Education (CDL&CE), was formally announced during a press conference in Lagos.
Leading the University delegation was the Director of the Centre for Distance Learning and Continuing Education, Prof. Uche Anaduaka, while Edutech Global was represented by the Group Chief Executive Officer of Venture Garden Group (VGG), Mr. Bunmi Akinyemiju, and the company’s Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Femi Shonubi.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Anaduaka described the collaboration as a significant milestone in the University’s efforts to make higher education more accessible through flexible learning pathways without compromising academic standards.
She said the initiative would enable more Nigerians, regardless of their location or professional commitments, to pursue recognised university qualifications supported by modern digital learning technologies.
Mr. Akinyemiju highlighted the role of education in driving national development, describing the partnership as a shared commitment to expanding access to quality higher education through technology and innovation.

Also speaking, Mr. Shonubi said the collaboration brings together the University of Abuja’s academic excellence and Edutech Global’s expertise in education technology and learner engagement.
According to him, the future of higher education lies in flexible, accessible and technology-enabled learning that allows students to pursue their academic goals without sacrificing their careers or personal aspirations.
The partnership is expected to improve the overall learner experience through enhanced digital delivery, strengthened student support services and technology-driven engagement, while creating broader opportunities for prospective students across Nigeria and beyond.
As the nation’s capital university continues to expand its distance learning programmes, the collaboration is expected to contribute to Nigeria’s efforts to widen access to higher education and build a digitally skilled workforce.
