Justrite Supermarket has confirmed a fire outbreak at one of its branches, stating that the fire has been completely extinguished.
The fire engulfed the supermarket’s outlet located at No. 116, Akowonjo Road, Jimoh Bus Stop, Egbeda-Akowonjo, Lagos.
The development was disclosed in a statement shared on the supermarket’s X handle.
According to the statement, the fire was completely extinguished following the prompt response of emergency services.
“Following the fire incident at our Akowonjo branch, we are pleased to confirm that the fire has been completely extinguished and the situation has been fully contained.
“Thanks to the prompt response of the emergency services and the coordinated efforts of all relevant stakeholders, the incident was brought under control swiftly and effectively,” the statement read.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service responded promptly to the incident and successfully brought the blaze under control.
Eyewitnesses said the incident caused minor traffic congestion in the area, but no casualties were reported.
