Yoruba Nollywood actors have shown their love and respect for the late Onipokia of Ipokia Kingdom with their grand gesture.
Kemi Filani reported that the Onipokia of Ipokia Kingdom in Yewa, Ogun State, Dr Oba Yisa Sola Adeniyi Olaniyan, had passed away at the age of 55 on June 27th, 2026, following complications arising from a surgical procedure.
Following his death overseas, the monarch’s remains were brought back to Nigeria for his burial.
In a video making rounds online, some Yoruba Nollywood stars had stormed the Muhammad International Airport to receive his remains.
Spotted in the videos making rounds were Faithia Williams, Seyi Edun, Ronke Oshodi, Kemi Korede, Akin Boss and more. They all wore matching white T-shirts with the monarch’s picture on them.
The news of his passing threw the kingdom into mourning, with tributes pouring in from indigenes, friends, and well-wishers.
Joining them, Yoruba Nollywood stars flooded their social media pages with tributes to the King.
Seyi Edun said she was speechless and shocked, and doesn’t want to believe the news. She prayed for his soul to rest in peace and prayed for God to console his family.
TAMPAN president, Mr Latin, praised the Kabiesi for his unmatched humility, kindness and willingness. He attested that he was personally a beneficiary of his generosity and will forever cherish his support.
Veteran actor Taiwo Adeshina, better known as Elegbeje Ado, had passed away. The actor reportedly died on Monday, June 29th, 2026, after a brief illness.
Akin Boss noted how some leave footprints on people’s hearts that can’t be erased, and he is one of them. She disclosed that the deceased was more than a brother, as he welcomed her with open arms, made every journey easier, connected her with opportunities, and made a foreign place feel like home.

Funke Etti had concurred with an Instagram user who described him as the most humble person. Funke said he was a very nice man.
Kabiyesi, who lived in the United States for 23 years before ascending the throne, was installed as the 46th Onipokia of Ipokia in 2020 and reigned from 2020 to 2026. During his reign, he was known for his commitment to the growth and development of the Ipokia Kingdom and the welfare of his people.

Also, in. June, Yoruba actor, Adeshina Okiki, was involved in a fatal car accident, which claimed his life. In accordance with Muslim rites, the actor had been laid to rest in his hometown of Okeho, Oyo State.
