Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have distributed Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to non-indigenes to participate in the ongoing Ekiti governorship election.
Fayose claimed that PVCs belonging to voters who did not collect them were accessed and given to political actors for use during the election.
He alleged that the number of uncollected PVCs in Ekiti was far higher than officially stated, putting the figure at over 400,000 instead of about 30,000.
“They said people that didn’t collect their voters card, are only 30,000. They are more than that. They are over 400,000.
“They now gave the cards to apc. You know the same way they entered INEC server and brought out Ike’s details.”
Fayose also alleged that some of those involved were given money to participate in the voting process using the PVCs.
He further claimed that electoral processes, including biometric verification, had been compromised.
“They now got non indigenes from the states. They now give them 20,000 to be using the cards to vote.
“Even though the picture is not their picture, it’s only the card. They will just go there, use the card. Even the thumb-printing does not work. They’ve removed that.” he said.
