Accuses Lawmaker, Adaramodu, of Vote Buying

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate at the ongoing Ekiti gubernatorial election, Dare Bejide, has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of deploying fake policemen to assault his driver and security aide.
NPO earlier Reported the harassment of a security aide attached to the ADC governorship candidate amid allegation of vote buying at the polling unit 004 in Ilawe II, Ekiti Sout West Local Government Area.
Prior to the report, a picture of an injured ADC supporter surfaced on X.
While addressing newsmen over the incident, Bejide identified the injured man as his driver.
The former Nigerian Ambassador to Canada accused an APC political office holder, simply identified as Makinde, and the Ekiti South Senatorial District lawmaker, Yemi Adaramodu, of deploying the security agents to the polling unit.
“This is my polling booth. I came here to vote as required by law.
“In the process, one political office holder, Makinde came here with fake policemen.
“And they started harassing our men. They beat my driver. There’s blood all over his body.
“They also harassed my security. And that’s what they have been doing.” He said.
Bejide alleged that the clash had occurred after the APC officials brought wads of Naira notes to engage in vote buying.
He held that the resistance of his supporters against the vote-buying allegedly sponsored by Adaramodu and Makinde led to the clash and subsequent assault.
“They brought a large sum of money to distribute. And we said, no, you can’t distribute money here. That is the cause of the commotion. They brought in fake policemen.
“That is what they have been doing. And I said that you can’t do it here. Today is an election day. Makinde cannot bring thugs
here. He’s doing it in collaboration with Adaramodu.
“What they have come to do is to bring in thugs to my polling booth.
“As far as they are concerned, they want to make sure I don’t win my polling booth. And what they have done is to bring in money. And we said that they cannot bring in money here.” Bejide alleged.
