According to a report by The Sun News, on Sunday, July 26, 2026, legal practitioner and former National Administrative Secretary of the defunct National Centre Party of Nigeria (NCPN), Chief Johnny Ucheaga, reflected on Nigeria’s democratic journey, security challenges and the Federal Government’s ongoing reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He also spoke on electoral credibility, the country’s fight against terrorism and the debate over true federalism.
Speaking during the interview, Ucheaga noted that 28 years after the death of Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (M.K.O.) Abiola in detention following the annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, many of the socio-economic ideas associated with Abiola’s vision now appear to be receiving renewed attention.
