An embattled Nigerian pastor, Amos Isah, accused of allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl inside his church in the Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, has visited the victim’s family.
Sources told Sahara Reporters that the clergyman allegedly failed to appear in court during an earlier proceeding, visited the victim’s family at night to beg for forgiveness ahead of a fresh court hearing scheduled for May 14.
The publication obtained a video showing the cleric at the victim’s residence, where he was seen pleading with her parents.
In the video, Pastor Amos was seen seated with members of the victim’s family inside their residence during what sources described as a private meeting aimed at seeking a resolution.
The development comes amid growing public outrage over the alleged sexual abuse of the minor, whom community members have described as an “innocent little girl.”
Sources close to the family said the case has progressed significantly, adding that authorities are preparing for the continuation of proceedings later this week.
“Now Amos is secretly begging; the case is properly starting on May 14,” a source said
The source added that community members are closely monitoring the case to ensure justice is not compromised by intimidation, pressure, or private settlement.
Isah was arrested last year after a 14-year-old girl accused him of sexually assaulting her in the church’s newly constructed auditorium.
According to the victim’s family, Isah lured the minor under false pretences, locked her inside the building, and raped her after performing a prayer ritual.
He reportedly gave her ₦3,000 for “medication” and threatened to kill her and her family if she spoke out.
Investigations revealed a pattern of predatory behaviour, with sources claiming Isah frequently targeted underage girls, often taking them to secluded areas in his tinted-window car.
The case has sparked outrage, particularly given Isah’s public image as a charismatic preacher who frequently preached about holiness and moral integrity.
