The media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, Lere Olayinka, has taunted the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, over his withdrawal from the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries.
PrimeTimes Nigeria reports that Fubara announced his withdrawal from the primary in a statement on Wednesday, saying his decision was not due to weakness or fear, but rather to ensure peace in the state.
Reacting to the development, Lere, in a series of posts on his Facebook page, said the governor has zero candidates vying for the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the State Assembly.
According to Lere, no Local Government Chairman or Councillor is currently on Fubara’s side, insinuating that the FCT Minister has the entire political structure of Rivers State.
Citing an old video clip that captured Fubara making derogatory comments about his principal, Wike’s aide also stated that Fubara remains arrogant in his withdrawal from defeat.
He wrote, “The dog is still barking, still arrogant in withdrawal out of defeat. “I stepped aside from participating in the upcoming River’s state Gubernatorial election not out of WEAKNESS, FEAR, or SURRENDER”
