Veteran Nollywood actress, Shan George, has reacted to the marital controversy involving media personality, Frank Edoho, and his estranged wife, Sandra Edoho.
In a lengthy Facebook post, George condemned infidelity in marriage and faulted arguments suggesting that Edoho’s alleged silence towards his wife may have contributed to the crisis.
The actress said keeping silent during marital disagreements was not enough reason for any spouse to be unfaithful.
George argued that some people avoid confrontation by keeping quiet while processing their emotions.
She said such periods should be handled with maturity and not used as an excuse for retaliation.
George stated, “People keep malice with each other everywhere, marriage, office, etc, even parents keep malice with their children sometimes. Malice is a part of life, we are all guilty of it one time or another
“Not everyone enjoys rancour or confrontations, so some people simply keep quiet for sometime, while they process.
“One’s approach towards such periods is what determines a win or lose in that marriage. Any form of ‘do me I do you’ must be avoided at such times, until you resolve the issues.”
The movie star maintained that infidelity remained unacceptable as long as a couple still lived together as husband and wife.
“Any man who goes after another man’s wife has committed an unacceptable sacrilege, even if she and her man are keeping malice, or any other issues whatsoever between them, as long as the woman and her husband still reside under the same roof, it’s a no no,” she said.
George said anyone tired of a marriage should leave instead of engaging in extramarital affairs.
“As for the ladies, please if the marriage tires you, after you have tried all your best, please leave the marriage,” she added.
The actress compared Edoho’s alleged silence to musician Mr Eazi, whom she said once chose to communicate with his wife through email instead of direct conversation during a disagreement.
George wrote, “I remember not too long ago when music star Mr Eazi sent his wife an email, and she complained about how he kept malice over the issue for days, only to be sending her email discussing the same issue.
“He could have talked to her directly to talk about it, but he sent email.”
George also mentioned singer Chike, who has been rumoured to have had a relationship with Sandra.
“In conclusion, Chike owes Frank Edoho and all men whose wives he has chewed, an apology,” she wrote.
She added that people who prefer older women should focus on unmarried ones.
