AN Upper Area Court in Ilorin on Wednesday ordered a middle-aged man, Hafeez Saheed to sweep the State High Court premises for one week.

The judges, Sunday Adeniyi and Hammad Ajumonbi gave the order after Saheed pleaded guilty to loitering.

The court held that the punishment was to ensure that he would desist from roaming about and causing public nuisance.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel , Insp. Rhoda Kayode told the court that Saheed was arrested while wandering around some shops and acting in a suspicious manner.

Saheed, who admitted that he was arrested while wandering around, said:” I don’t want people to know that I smoke. So whenever I want to smoke, I hide somewhere, remove my shirt and smoke.

”I don’t want my relatives to smell the cigarette smoke”. (NAN)
