THE Bayelsa Deputy Governor, Dr Peter Akpe has commended the smooth conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries in the state.
Akpe spoke shortly after casting his vote at his hometown of Ebedebiri, Sagbama Local Government Area of the state.
He noted that the exercise was conducted in a calm and peaceful atmosphere, and commended conduct of party faithful across Bayelsa.
He observed that the impressive turn out for the primaries reflected a strong show of unity and democratic engagement among party members.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that members of the party affirmed President Bola Tinubu as APC candidate for the 2027 presidential election, through the direct primaries option.
NAN reports that the event witnessed the presence of key stakeholders and party chieftains, including Dr. Embelakpo Apere, Mr Sinkumo Ekisah, and Mrs. Charity Kent, who served as the Ward Returning Officer.
Other APC chieftains at the venue were, Patricia Ibiegi, High Chief Ebizimor Anthony Welson, Owupele Jeremiah Esq., and the party agent, Chief Akposeye Alfred Ozigbo.
Also present was the APC Vice Chairman for Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Akwakwa B. Akwakwa, amongst others. (NAN)
