Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has called on Nigerians to join what he described as a national movement under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) aimed at restoring prosperity and reversing the country’s current challenges.
Atiku made the call on Thursday after a visit to the national secretariat of the ADC, where he said the party was taking “a firm and decisive step forward” toward rebuilding the nation.
In a statement on Thursday, the former presidential candidate described the initiative as more than a conventional political project, saying it represented a broader push for national renewal and hope.
Atiku stated, “This is more than a political journey; it is a national movement rooted in hope, renewal, and the collective resolve to save Nigeria from despair.”
He urged Nigerians across regional, religious, and social divides to support the movement, which he said was focused on restoring stability and improving living conditions in the country.
He added, “I call on all Nigerians, regardless of region, faith, or background, to join us in this noble cause.”
The former vice president further declared that the movement was committed to “restoring the promise of our nation” and bringing back economic prosperity.
Although Atiku did not disclose specific policy proposals or electoral plans, his remarks come at a time of political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The ADC has recently attracted heightened attention after speculations over possible alliances involving opposition figures seeking broader political coalitions against the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Atiku, a former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has remained one of the leading opposition voices commenting on governance, the economy, and national development issues.
