Efforts to strengthen joint military operations received a boost as Operation FANSAN YAMMA hosted a delegation from the Air Force War College on a strategic study tour.
The team, led by Commandant Gambo Mbaka, visited the North-West theatre where they were received by the Theatre Commander, Warrah Idris.
During the visit, Idris stressed the importance of synergy among the armed services, noting that modern warfare requires seamless coordination between land and air forces.
He praised the War College for producing competent officers capable of deploying air power effectively in combat operations.
“Stronger collaboration among the services will enhance the success of joint operations,” he said.
The Theatre Commander urged the participants to use the opportunity to deepen their understanding of real battlefield conditions, stressing that practical exposure is key to effective leadership.
He also called for exchange programmes among military training institutions to improve coordination and operational effectiveness.
In his remarks, Mbaka said the College trains senior officers in operational planning and the use of air power, adding that the study tour is designed to expose participants to real-life military operations.
He noted that since January, participants of Course 12 have undergone intensive training in operational art and joint planning.
Mbaka commended Operation FANSAN YAMMA for its role in tackling banditry and terrorism, describing the theatre as a critical learning ground for officers.
He said the integration of land and air operations provides valuable lessons for participants preparing for higher responsibilities.
The delegation included officers from the Nigerian Air Force, Navy, and Ghanaian Air Force.
Highlights of the visit included an interactive session, signing of the visitors’ register, and presentation of souvenirs.
