A Nigerian man has protested at the national secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja, claiming the party abandoned him after he allegedly sold his house while working for its 2023 election campaigns.
The man, who wore an APC-branded blue shirt, carried a placard with the inscription, “Reward me or kill me.”
A video of the protest began circulating on Facebook on Thursday night, then was widely shared on 𝕏.
In the video, the man was seen pacing around the entrance of the APC secretariat, raising his placard and shouting toward the building as security personnel and bystanders watched.
He said, “I sold my house because of the debt I seemed to owe APC. Because of the work I worked for APC.”
When bystanders asked who sent him, he pointed to his APC-branded shirt and said, “These are the people that sent me.”
He claimed his sacrifices were linked to the party’s 2023 general election campaigns, adding that he had not been rewarded.
“This is the work I did for APC and at the end of it, no reward. Rather, the CSO threatened to shoot me and nothing will happen,” he said.
The man also said he could no longer afford his children’s school fees and had left them with the party’s Chief Security Officer.
He said, “Since yesterday, my children, I don’t know where they are. I dropped my children with the CSO and APC because I cannot take care of them again. I cannot pay school fees anymore.”
The placard he carried read, “All Progressives Congress. Reward me or kill me. I’m a party man and not a lunatic. I have lost so much for the party. I am depressed and my health is affected.”
The roughly 30-second video showed the man visibly distressed as he moved around the secretariat gate with the placard.
No APC official was seen addressing him in the footage.
The APC had yet to issue an official statement on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
