THE Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has extended his heartfelt greetings to all Nigerian pilgrims currently preparing for the Arafat exercise in Saudi Arabia.
This is contained in a goodwill message issued by the Emir’s spokesman, Dr Abdulazeez Arowona, in Ilorin on Monday.
Sulu-Gambari described the gathering on the Plain of Arafat as the Hajj’s spiritual zenith and a profound manifestation of the unity, equality, and devotion that define the Muslim Ummah globally.
He noted that millions of faithful, including thousands of Nigerians, would converge for a singular act of worship to seek God’s mercy and forgiveness.
He prayed to God to grant the pilgrims physical strength, spiritual fortitude, and sound health to complete the sacred rites without hardship.
The Emir, who is also the Chairman of the Kwara Council of Chiefs, urged the pilgrims to uphold the highest standards of conduct during the exercise.
He encouraged them to serve as worthy ambassadors of Nigeria and Kwara through exemplary discipline, patience, and mutual respect.
He charged them to dedicate the moment to pray for enduring peace, unity, and prosperity across Nigeria, and for divine guidance for its leaders at all levels.
He commended the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, officials and service providers for their efforts in ensuring a smooth and dignified pilgrimage.
He wished the pilgrims a safe return to their families and communities. (NAN)
