The All Progressives Congress, APC, has officially declared the results of the Senatorial primary elections held in Osun State.
After the conclusion of the exercise on Monday, Adenigba Francis Fadahunsi, Akin Ogunbiyi and Adegoke Rasheed emerged as senatorial candidates of the APC for the 2027 National Assembly elections.
The declaration was made at the end of the elections by the Chairman of the APC Primary Election Committee, Bayo Ayo in Osogbo.
Notably, among the prominent politicians who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the APC in Osun State, only Olubiyi Fadeyi Ajagunla failed to secure the party’s ticket.
According to him, “Osun West Senatorial District: Senator Adenigba Francis Fadahunsi polled 23,593 votes, Famurewa Israel polled 7,472 votes and Thomas Ogungbangbe polled 806 votes. Senator Adenigba Francis Fadahunsi is thereby returned as Osun East Senatorial candidate of the APC.
“Osun West Senatorial District: Gafar Akintayo polled 1,215 votes, Peter Ogundeji polled 14 votes while Akinade Akanmu Ogunbiyi polled 30,568 votes. Therefore, Akinade Akanmu Ogunbiyi is returned as Senatorial candidate for Osun West Senatorial District.
“Osun Central Senatorial District: Yomi Ogunwale polled 2,925 votes, Akintunde Adegboye polled 342 votes, Fadeyi Olubiyi Ajagunla polled 13,138 votes, Adegoke Adekunle Rasheed polled 26,655 votes while Olu Fakeye polled 67 votes.”
Meanwhile, the list of successful House of Representatives candidates was also announced on Monday night in Osogbo by the Chairman of the APC Electoral Panel, Bayo Ayo.
