Sunny Hostin did not hold back when Tucker Carlson’s recent apology for supporting Donald Trump came up on The View.
During the yeester’days episode, the panel reacted after Carlson said on his podcast that he regretted backing Trump and was sorry for “misleading” people. As soon as the clip ended, Hostin made it clear she was not convinced.
“Whatever,” she said. “I don’t believe him. He’s not getting a bear hug from me. The world is on fire, and you can’t just say, ‘Oopsies.’”
Hostin said she questioned Carlson’s sincerity because of comments that surfaced during Fox News’ legal battle with Dominion Voting Systems.
“During that litigation in 2021, he texted someone and said that he hated Trump passionately,” Hostin said. “And then, two years later, he said, ‘I’m voting for Trump.’ And then, in 2024, he endorsed him for president.”
Joy Behar also criticized Carlson, joking that he was suffering from “liar’s remorse.”
“He needs to make a whole list of all the things he got wrong,” Behar added. “Not just he’s sorry.”
Sara Haines later joined in, accusing Carlson of saying “anything” for “money, for clicks, for power.”
“That man just needs to disappear,” Haines remarked.
Several other former MAGA supporters have also turned on Trump, including Candace Owens, Megyn Kelly, Nick Fuentes, and to some degree, Joe Rogan, who, despite his recent White House, has been openly critical of Trump’s second term.
