Nollywood actress and director Omotola Ekeinde is celebrating her latest achievement in the Cinema.
On her Instagram page, she celebrated as her movie, A Mother’s Love, hit 7 weeks in Nigerian cinemas.
Throwing shots at her haters, Omotola said that it isn’t about quantity, but about quality. She went on to brag that she is different.

It is no longer news that the legendary actress produced her movie, A Mother’s Love, which is showing in all Cinemas.
On Sunday, March 1st, the talented actress held the premiere of her much-talked-about movie, A Mother’s Love, which premiered on March 6th, at the Alliance Franchise, Ikoyi, Lagos. As expected, the premiere had in attendance tons of celebrities like Rita Dominic, Toke Makinwa, Nosa Rex and more and even former President, Olusegun Obasanjo.
Following the premiere, she expressed gratitude to the public, crediting God for making the event possible.
The wife of Captain Mathew Ekeinde had expressed gratitude to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, for watching her movie. Shs shared a video of the Ooni and his wives watching her movie with actor Olumide Oworu, expressing gratitude to the Monarch for his show of support.
A day ago, she shared a video of herself in the hospital before surgery, reflecting on how it has been a journey since her movie debut.
Omotola Jalade Ekeinde had stirred controversy after she revealed that she wouldn’t be dancing to market or promote her movies, describing such behaviour as unprofessional, noting how she has done a quality movie and needs to promote it.
This came after her colleague, Kunle Afolayan, during the premiere of his movie, stated that he is not interested in ₦1 billion or ₦2 billion in cinema earnings if he cannot get at least ₦10 million from them. He also took a swipe at his colleagues for constantly dancing to promote their movies.
Last year, Omotola lamented the industry’s condition, comparing it to Hollywood and calling for structure. The legendary actress revealed that she had been working in Hollywood for 4 years and gets monthly residuals. Meanwhile, she got no residuals in Nollywood, where she spent 30 years.
A month ago, while attending the dinner for Miss Nigeria, Omotola Ekeinde had a session with an interviewer who inquired about her name and identity. Omotola, caught off guard by the question, told him to repeat himself, and the interviewer asked who she was, which left her pissed. In the clip, the legendary actress walked out visibly angry, leaving the interviewer begging, and she told him not to touch her.
Defending her, Rita Dominic, a member of the Miss Nigeria board, released a statement apologising to the actress for the discomfort she experienced. She urged the media to do better, noting how Omotola is an icon who has paved the way for many.
