Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has revealed his utmost desire for his father, Pete Edochie.
In a tweet, he said he would never ask his father what he needs money for if her ever demands it from him. According to him, he would send him the money right away, without any questions asked.
He stated that he wouldn’t be bothered even if his father decided to give the money to a lady or throw it into the River Niger. The actor disclosed that his desire for his father is to see him happy every day of his life.
“God forbid that I’ll ever ask my father what he needs money for.
If my father calls me and says, “Send me so-so amount of money,” before he finishes the call, I’ve sent it.
Once I have it, he’s getting it immediately.
Whatever he wants to do with the money, it doesn’t concern me.
Whether he wants to give the money to a lady or throw it into the River Niger, I don’t want to know.
As long as it makes him happy, I’ll do it.
My joy is to see my father happy all the days of his life”.
Despite his scandal with his colleague, Judy Austin, which almost wrecked his relationship with his family, there is no doubt that Yul holds his father in high esteem as he never fails to sing his praises.
When the actor began his ministerial work in 2024, he expressed gratitude to his father for endorsing, supporting, and praying for him.
Also, when Pete Edochie bagged two doctorate degrees from Togo University, Yul had hailed him, calling him the Lion of Africa. He noted how his father deserves the recognition and award.
Yul had sung the praises of his father, referring to him as one of Nigeria’s greatest icons and the biggest name in Nollywood. He expressed how much he loved his father and declared him his man for life.
In another post, Yul revealed one of the greatest lessons he learned from his father, Pete Edochie in his career. The father of five recounted how his father gave him the biggest advice after the first time he directed him in a movie, which he believed wasn’t his son’s best. He had the opportunity to direct his father once again and he blew him away with his artistic prowess and finally Pete him his accolades.
During the heat of Yul Edochie’s marriage announcement with Judy, Pete had granted an interview revealing that he was never aware that Yul had taken a second wife. He praised May Edochie and indirectly called Judy a foreign and infested woman who came into his family to wreak havoc.
His sister-in-law, Rita Edochie, had also stated that he wasn’t in support of Yul and Judy’s marriage. She claimed that Pete once walked out of a movie production that Judy was in charge of and refunded her money.
