DaBaby is speaking out after a fan tried to give him a painting of his daughters outside a nightclub.

The rapper addressed the moment during a recent livestream after video of the interaction went viral on social media. In the clip, an artist approached DaBaby with a portrait of two of his daughters. DaBaby looked at the painting but walked away without taking it.

After some fans criticized his reaction, the rapper explained why he was uncomfortable.

“Y’all getting on my motherf–king nerves, talking about buddy with this painting of my two daughters,” DaBaby said. “I’m not into grown men discussing my daughters, painting pictures of my daughters, taking pictures of my kids. I don’t play like that.”

DaBaby said his response was not meant to disrespect the artist. Instead, he said he was protecting his children and setting boundaries.

“I’m not accepting no painting of my daughters outside of a nightclub,” he said. “If you feel a way about how far I go to protect them, that ain’t none of my concern.”

The moment trended online after DaBaby reportedly contacted the artist directly on Instagram and asked that photos of his daughters be removed. While some fans agreed with him being protective of his daughters, others said that his interaction with the artist could have been less hostile.

DaBaby rose to fame in 2019 with hits like “Suge” and “Bop”. The rapper later topped the charts with Rockstar. His career suffered a major hurdle after making homophobic remarks live on the Rolling Loud stage.
