Benzino is recovering after an alleged altercation involving his child’s mother that reportedly left him hospitalized.
The rapper, whose real name is Raymond Scott, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta and was seen wearing a neck brace, according to blogger Tasha K. In posts shared on social media, Tasha K said Benzino contacted her directly and claimed he was injured during a confrontation tied to a dispute over custody of his son.
“He alleges that he caught Althea attempting to remove their son from school despite him being the sole custodial parent,” Tasha K wrote. Benzino reportedly told her he followed the situation to the parking lot and was struck by a vehicle during the chaos. Zino claims the car was driven by Diamond from Love & Hip Hop.
In a later livestream, Benzino expanded on his account, claiming he saw his son being placed into an SUV and approached the car out of concern. He described being in pain but said his focus remained on his child.
Althea Heart responded publicly, disputing Benzino’s version of events and saying she has primary custody. “He wants to get hit by a car,” she said in a video response. “Only somebody crazy would do all of that.”
Authorities have not released further details, and it remains unclear whether charges will be filed.
