DJ Switch has allegedly applied for asylum in Canada

Obianuju Catherine Udeh, popularly called DJ Switch, has been detained by police operatives in Lagos state and is being transported to Eti Osa magistrate court.

According to a news source, DJ Switch went to the police in Elemoro, Ajah, on Monday, April 15, to report about a man who allegedly scammed her. According to authorities, the individual was caught on the same day and is currently in police custody.

The source further revealed that DJ Switch was then asked on Wednesday, April 17, whether she wanted the suspect charged in court or freed on bond, as detaining an accused for more than 48 hours is against the law.

It was reported that DJ Switch emphasised that all she wanted was an apology from the accused, which she would videotape and put online, but the accused flatly refused. The police then decided to take the case to court because both parties were not satisfied.

The source also revealed that, while the officers were going to bring the accused to court, DJ Switch allegedly used her vehicle to block the station’s entry and assaulted the female policemen involved in the case.

She was then detained for impeding the police while on duty, resisting arrest, and assaulting officers. The accused was also taken to court and remanded to prison.

She is currently on her way to Eti-Osa Magistrate Court to face charges of impeding police officers on duty, resisting arrest, and assaulting police officials.
