Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that explosive drones hit a Patriot air defence system, an ammunition depot and a US radar site in Kuwait. It also said another attack targeted American communications and radar facilities in Bahrain, while ballistic missiles were fired at the US military’s Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan.
How did Gulf countries respond to Iranian attacks?
Qatar’s armed forces said they intercepted a missile attack targeting the country, while Bahrain activated air raid sirens and advised residents to take shelter. The UAE also reported incoming Iranian missiles and drones, saying its air defence systems were responding to the threat.
The latest attacks came after the US carried out fresh strikes on Iran following an attack on a Cyprus-flagged container ship in the Strait of Hormuz.
