Residents of Ondo community along Barracks Road, GRA Roundabout, have discovered the body of a beheaded woman dumped by the roadside.
A graphic image posted on Instagram on Wednesday showed the body dumped alongside a travelling bag.
The body of the yet-to-be identified woman also had its hands and legs removed with just the torso left in what had widely been considered ritual killing.
While the discovery had since been reported to the police, no official statement had however been issued by the Ondo State Police Command confirm the development.
The circumstances surrounding the murder of the lady also remain unknown.
Efforts to reach the Ondo Police Public Relations Officers, Abayomi Ibrahim, proved abortive as the spokesperson was not responsive to telephone calls from our correspondent as at the time of filing this report.
