Achimugu: Court orders final forfeiture of N4.6bn jewellery, luxury cars linked to businesswoman

Aisha Achimugu

The ruling, delivered by Justice Jude Onwugbuzie of the Apo Division on Thursday, followed an application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which sought the final forfeiture of the assets.

Among the properties forfeited are jewellery valued at N4.645 billion, 11 luxury vehicles worth N4.293 billion, $50,000 in cash, and N30 million cash.

Justice Onwugbuzie granted the EFCC’s request after considering the anti-graft agency’s application for the assets to be permanently transferred to the Federal Government.

The assets, comprising expensive jewellery, high-end automobiles and cash holdings, had previously been the subject of court proceedings involving Achimugu before the court made the final forfeiture order.
