In a recent interview on Symfoni TV, on Thursday, July 9, 2026, Abayomi Arabambi, a member of the Labour Party National Working Committee (NWC) under the Julius Abure faction, said he is prepared to pursue legal action over allegations he has made against Peter Obi and others. He maintained that the issues should ultimately be determined through the judicial process.
Speaking during the interview, Arabambi stated, “Obi should prepare his lawyer; I have two witnesses to testify against them in court.” He made the allegation while discussing what he described as evidence he intends to rely on if the matter proceeds to court.
According to him, witnesses and documentary evidence should be evaluated by the judiciary rather than through public debate. He maintained that the legal process should be allowed to determine the merits of any allegations that have been raised.
The Labour Party chieftain further stressed that respect for due process is essential to democratic governance. He said allegations should be tested through the courts, where both sides have the opportunity to present evidence and challenge each other’s claims.
Arabambi concluded by saying that confidence in the rule of law depends on allowing the appropriate institutions to handle disputes independently.
